Cosmetic Eye Procedures

PERFORMED IN DULUTH, GA (NORTH OF ATLANTA) at Georgia Eye Physicians & Surgeons

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is a common cosmetic eye procedure to remove excess skin on the upper and/or lower eyelids as well as fat deposits below the eye. Excess skin and fat can begin to droop, weighing the eyelid down and interfering with a patient’s vision. Droopy eyelids may obstruct vision or cause the eyelids to sag or retract involuntarily, often referred to as a condition called Ptosis.

Board certified ophthalmologist Dr. William Segal performs eyelid surgery as an outpatient procedure done in-office with local anesthesia. Redundant skin and fat is removed or re-positioned from the upper or lower lid of each eye and surrounding muscle tightened for both aesthetic and functional reasons. Tiny incisions are made within the natural creases of the eye to camouflage surgical scars.
