At first, 68 year old Louis didn’t even notice anything was wrong. His wife had noticed he was squinting more than he used to, and he complained about it being too dim around the house, but it was nothing that seemed cause for much concern. But as his vision grew increasingly blurry, and the halos that began to surround lights played havoc with his night vision, a visit to his family doctor confirmed that he was developing cataracts in both eyes. Unless the condition was treated, he would most likely continue to lose vision.
Despite being retired, Louis still maintains an active lifestyle. He swims regularly and enjoys nature walks in the park with any of his eight grandchildren. In addition, he is an avid bowler, and participates in a league every week with his wife. The thought of not being able to enjoy those activities was devastating.
